Route 4 is a rewarding hiking trail that crosses the island from north to south. Its first section follows an old path along the slope of the Paleokastro hill, offering magnificent views of the open sea. In the Makry Maderi area, the trail enters a beautiful inland valley with dense shrub vegetation, while the final stretch leading to the windswept cape of Pounentis with its striking white cliffs, among carob trees and shrub oaks, is particularly impressive.
